Ore quality cap from tool used to mine?

Postby Belliaum » Tue Mar 07, 2017 2:44 am

Ok i tried to find some info on this but failed to do so.

What formula is used to calculate how my tool caps the Q of the ore I get?

I am currently using my shitty q 27 stone axe since it caps my ore higher than my q 9.9 Pick axe.

I just wanted to find out how much higher Q pickaxe i need to ditch the damn stone axe.

I am assuming its q27 but I might be wrong.

Well then I am fucked.. no way to get the damn Q of the pickaxe up without better Q coal and we cant get better Q coal since we cant kill anything without wrecking its Q.

Thanks for your reply.

Use a stoneaxe for a while. Once you get to level 2, you can mine coal (single minehole placed in a cave). I was using stone axes for my higher quality stone/ore until i bought a nice pickaxe.

So negative! True fact: yesterday I found a pile of q88 bones sitting alone and unclaimed in the wilderness. Oh hello, would I like a better saw? Yay! And make sure you check your softcap, it's based on INT*SURV these days not just the survival on its own, just to be annoying.

Yesterday I also found MULTIPLE dead animals of q40+ lying on river banks, hooray for the weekend murderers I suppose.

What q is your tar kiln? Make a better one. You know it's the person with the Masonry levels who needs to dig the clay and stones now, yes?

Pickaxe q is capped by bough q is capped by htable is capped by STRING. Crack on with the farming, guys!

Or, yeah, by this point in the game you can buy one for a lot less hassle. Last time I passed through Samarkand someone was buying anyq leather for Dis coins, should be easy enough.

Thanks for the advice.
We got decent q kiln and smelter its just the bloody coal that sucks balls due to no decent q bones. Currently we raise the q of the best ore by 0.2. I would like to get that a Little higher.

Ok, next thought, tree q is now significantly more important than it used to be in saw production. So if you were a Legacy player used to q150+ bear bone saws, that's not going to be happening without some serious farming getting involved too. So actually you are just whining about trees. Sorry. Make friends with a farmer? they might like even low-q dead bears....

I got most of the things i need except the time to truely increase the q on my crops.
Thing is we got our first gen of trees almost done but we still would benefit from a better q bone than q 40ish mole bones....

btw moles rock!
