About farming

Postby Muffet » Wed Mar 08, 2017 12:15 pm

I've been told conflicting information in-game from other people, so i have three basic questions about farming
-Do i need to wait for the soil to 'rest' after i harvest something from it? or does that not affect anything anymore
-Does quality of the soil matters? because i've been told it doesn't anymore either
-And lastly...i've been told i don't need to do rotations, that was a old thing from a previous version

So basically i can plow a land independent of the soil quality, plant per say onions, and when i harvest it instantly plant it back and that won't affect negatively my quality. Or are the people i met misinformed?

No, no and nope it doesn't.

Salem, the 'other' game had rotations and soil used to matter a few worlds so.

It's just fire and forget mate

I would suggest reading Sevenless's beginner's guide and checking the RoB wiki for information to get some clarification on systems. Try to not make assumptions on how things work based on other games because there's a lot of odd mechanics here. Also careful about listening to advice that can't be corroborated on the wiki. A lot of things changed over the last couple years, and some people are working with outdated information.

I'll note that on Sevenless's guide that a few things are outdated. Primarily the combat system. We're trying to leave comments about such sections as the game develops. (I'll note that I read back through this for the first time since w10 start and missed a critical update that should have been included.)

So you mean, around 70% of the guide is outdated? yeah i know, majority of guides are, and there was no recent ones on farming, and Wiki is not that reliable either.
mechanics i got it down so far, only doubt was if crop rotations was a thing, but thanks nonetheless!

No, the combat system was changed. It's the only section that is completely out of date. The rest is pretty much still the same. There might be a change here or there that was missed, but that's what the wiki is for.
