Random Dead Animals

My friend and I have been finding tons of dead animals (moose, deer, bear, and smaller) scattered around waterways. Are these just left behind by some others that come through and kill everything and leave?

People kill them and leave bad quality ones behind or just kill for combat discoveries.

Yes. Someone probably in your area is either A) Hunting for bigger quality animals B) Someone is trying to discover combat moves and just slaughter everything on his way.

Finding random dead bears is the only way I can think to get into mining, so I'm out searching!

But with no pickaxe all the walls are way too hard, boar hat and snuff isnt enough (unless im doing it wrong)

I think they can sometimes spawn dead, too. I remember sailing by some place, then coming back in like 2 minutes and finding a dead aurochs there.

They don't, someone just killed it when you were gone

Could have been bleeding to death and ran up to that area and died there, too.
