Catapult question

As information on ring of brodgar says, you only can use catapult with criminal acts on, however there's no any information about scents. Of course I'll leave scents if I decide to siege a claimed wall, but what's about unclaimed pali? Can I use catapult to take it down without leaving scents?

Yes. Unclaimed = no scents.
