If the bones are higher than the meat, it's definitely the cutting tool used that softcapped it :)

You can also inspect a dead animal to see it's effective q before butchering

Bones are soft capped by survival. Meat by tool, then survival.

If you have 50 survival and got q100 bones it means the bones were 150q to start with

Mountains have unlimited stone to dig only (hard)capped by masonry (whereas mined stone is hard capped by masonry and soft capped by tool q), so if you can find a high q node on them (so far at 70 masonry I've still been able to find stones better then that) you're set for all your high q stone needs.

You'll also need high q branches, and that's a bit harder. For now splitting wood blocks will give you better branches than straight off the q10 tree, but I'd highly recommend planting a bunch of trees/bushes to get better blocks and someday straight up better branches than your stone q

Yeah, every mountain tile can be dug for infinite stone on each tile, so a good q node will give you all the stone you'll ever need
