Combat Instructions??

How do these work, I got given one by a friend and I've left it in my study and have been killing ants and haven't gotten the move. (btw, the combat instruction gives Take Aim)

It needs to be an animal that gives that combat move. (Looks like ants do, or at least it's listed on the wiki.) Do note that the instruction only works when the animal would give you a move, and from what I've read, it's not a guarantee to get that move, just a greatly increased chance. (This is contrary to the dev notes on it if I understand correctly.) Also worth noting that ants are horrible for giving moves--1 in 10 or worse odds.

What would be a better animal to fight, I don't have any bladed weapon moves yet and I have 23 UA and 24 AGI with leather armor that gives 6/7

You can stick to trying to farm ants. They're easy and fast. Just know it will be slow getting the few moves they have. (Hopefully you'll get a chop.)

Bats and foxes should be fairly easy with your stats (warning: foxes might run, and they run faster than you). Leather pants and armor will be enough to take them on. You can add a batwing in to boost the armor a bit. Just be sure to keep an eye on the armor damage so it doesn't break mid fight and keep openings under 50%.

If you use a boat and lure animals to the water, you can take on anything other than a mammoth if you make sure you stay at 0 openings when you go to hit the target. 0 opening = 0 damage.
