Healing a black-eye

Postby Alrom » Fri Mar 31, 2017 6:16 pm

Hello, I'm new to Haven & Hearth and trough my "adventures" I got destroyed by some bats... Repeatedly.

I now have a black-eye and by doing some research it seems I have two solutions. Either spend the rest of my life looking for a rare root or to make some toad butter.

The toad butter seems easy enough to make, even in the beginning of the game.

However it seems it gives a permanent -1 to charisma. It's probably better than a -5 to perception that will never heal on its own but still, it leaves a sour taste having to use this thing.

So maybe the wiki is outdated. Or at least I kinda hope so?

Is there no other way to heal a black-eye?

Thanks for the answer.

Does the charisma penalty stack if I ever have to use another toad butter?

I'm not totally sure, but to be safe I would assume no, they didn't stack.

don't forget ancient roots from ancient windthrows. they can also be used to heal the warts from toad butter
just make sure you've healed any wounds as you can before eating the roots as they will randomly heal your wounds

ancient windthrow roots aren't THAT hard to find. especially if you have a custom client that records your map and the locations of them.

but, in the immediate future I would say go ahead and use that toad butter, a -1 charisma penalty is basically nothing. and if you really want to get rid of it, you can go find an ancient windthrow later, the roots also heal warts.
