So I've been tinkering, and I've hit a stumbling block.
Early game, the good foods to eat basically boil down to fruit roasts and fish wraps. Abusing the energy system as much as possible to save eating until I could eat relatively not terrible foods, I hit about 30 int, 20 per, and a smattering of unimportant stats as byproducts. However, freshly built palisade in tow, I'm really struggling to see where to go from here. Assuming no outside help:
In order to hunt/fight, I primarily need agility and the ability to get clovers for horses. Early game agility foods are essentially inaccessible (Unless I'm missing something), especially with how hard rabbits are to catch. Doubly so because I'm now well out of 300% bonus and my satiations are starting to creep up. But I needed those FEPs put into int/per in order to progress my char into having meaningful skills. Simply questing for LP and ignoring int/per doesn't seem viable because the satiation/hunger system punishes you heavily for using low quality agi foods.
In order to hunt/marksman, I just need LP. However, people keep offhand mentioning that no one bothers with ranged anymore.
Crops are the obvious answer, but waiting up to a week seems like a frustrating experience. I know I could spam WWS in order to get enough flour going that it could be solved in ~2 crop cycles solo, but the average hermit probably isn't planning that far ahead as a beginner.
So, can anyone point out if I'm missing something? The only answer I can semi come up with is that I should have quested for LP, ignored int and pushed agi as much as possible in order to get access to bat wings. After that, swapping back to int grind since there's so many accessible int foods.
