just wondering if there will ever be a perma world, like is that a goal? or will there never be a perma world?

(i ask cause iv been asking around and some think never others think def will be perma one day)

It has been stated as a something they would like to consider if it ever became feasible. So I'd say the reasonable answer is "Maybe, if the devs manage to find mechanics that support it and the community wants it at the time".

Whether or not we want it isn't the issue right now. The mechanics are definitely not in place.

Also personally one of the things that motivates me to come back to hafen every now and then is new worlds.
In path of exile they have leagues which last for a few months and have new economies each time. creating a character in a league starts you off fresh without being able to transfer items from the standard league, which is basically a perma world. maybe something like that could work for haven, but as Sevenless said the mechanics of the game might not fit, at least not unless that world will have some modified rules.
I think hafen would get problematic once a world runs forever, since when you play a character for long enough, you're bound to die. maybe a much stronger inheritage system could solve that problem, allowing you to die but at least always keep your progress in that world.
Still, I think a lot of people would like the temp worlds to stay, and maintaining two world might be difficult with a small playerbase.

Definitely not. Devs will make additional features, technologies, sometime they will require world reset. (hard to imagine normal implementation of seasons without wipe, for example)

The only case is stop developing game, but in current condition game will have 100-150 online after ~3 month without updates, and they will be question, who will pay for game servers?

That's still a perma world, like any other MMO. Perma in the sense of "no new worlds before the game is closed permanently" I guess.

Fair enough, everything gets shut down eventually, yeah world 7 is a permaworld

Im pretty sure that devs sometime stated that permanent world is a thing that they are working towards. Or well, not actively working. But a nice final destination.
I might remember wrong.

Also in 2009 jorb posted this image to forums.

It clearly states that if you dont like how the game is you should stop playing, die, or both.
When all the people who dislike the game are dead, the game will be great.
