Starting?

Postby GrumpFace » Sat Apr 22, 2017 12:44 am

So my friend and I have decided to play this game together, but we have no clue on where to start.
Yeah, we know the basics such as getting your exploration to 5 and I know how to craft stuff , but I don't know what skills to choose or how to do combat.

Can anyone just tell me whether or not I should work towards geting Yeomanry and setting up a base as soon as possible and what other things I should focus on?

Yeomanry is a good thing to focus on.

Both of you should build a study desk and always keep it filled with high LP per hour curios such as cone cows, dragonflies, bark boats, etc.

DON'T eat berries, or any of the cheap raw shit food you find on trees or on the floor. If you need energy, eat frog legs (2 frogs roasted on a fire) or some fruit roasts or fish wraps or what have you. Basically eat only prepared food as it doesn't fuck up your satiations as much.

Build a palisade as soon as possible to gain protection against raiders.

Live in a realm area if you don't already for the significant buffs it gives.

After you have a palisade in a nice place, the rest is basically up to you. Leave combat for when you have a full set of leather armor, 40-50 strength, constitution and agility, and 40-50 unarmed combat. Even then, be very careful or you might get gored and have a lot of wounds to deal with on top of the other noob stuff to worry about.

Oh and: don't forget to travel far in every direction (once you have some exploration*perception going on) and collect every wild windsown weed you can find. You can dry those on drying racks to get seeds. Seeds can be planted for different crops - having a diverse farm is very important.

At least under current conditions, treat anything except antacid, knicks and knacks, and concussion immediately if you're able to. Wounds can get infected which makes them very hard to deal with as a beginner currently.

Need gauze? Make a loom, clover a sheep and sheer it. Wild animals can only be clovered once per 5 minutes.

id say find area you like (prob in a realm) work on farm with the wild weed as stated above get lumber jacking and the other more basic skills, can atk ants individually(thou make sure to raise stats a little before try) at 1st (dont raid) and punch them to death one on one (2-3 till respawns can raid still if 2-3) helps get some moves in beginning, def need desk and lots of curio
