Changing Picture / Upload Colors

The first one isn't correct (obviously) so is there any way I can make it look like it should (2nd picture)

The game uses a simplified colour palette (for GPU processing efficiency I assume, possibly memory issues). So I don't think you can make the second image specifically as you want it, you need to look for an image that converts well.

to keep these files as small as humanely possible, they have to be one of 8? colors.

posterize the shit out of photos to get the results you want before uploading. generally speaking, it wont posterize the way you want on here

Also the disposition of pixels determines what ingame dyes you need. So there's that as well.
