Hey Folks,

Does one absolutely needs to pave under a house or are we just aethetic freaks?

They decay otherwise. They're one of a couple objects that are sensitive to decay even when on a claim. Some nothing protects them when outside (loom/cupboard for example).

I don't pave under my buildings and I've never had a decay tick on one of them (playing since mid previous world).

Houses will take a long time to decay, they won't just disappear in one hit like cupboards do, in fact they may well last the entire world, just turn a little red - depending on how long it lasts, but yeh, they do decay (at least as of last world)

Yeah, as of world 8, paving under constructions is a function of terrain you are building on, not as a means to prevent decay. In legacy haven (w7 and earlier) paving itself slowed decay of buildings off a claim and only a combination of claimed and paved land prevented decay.

I've not had any decay on my "non paved" constructions while on an active claim. You can tell because you can try to repair an item and it'll give you an error message if there is not any damage.

Yeah, things on charged claims don't decay, outside or otherwise. Seems to be both village and personal, but not kingdom. However, if you can walk through the claim and you don't get a message like "That land belongs to..." then stuff is decaying.
