Is this game still free-to-play?

Postby JimJamJum » Wed May 10, 2017 5:45 pm

Title.

Saw it a few years ago on a (non-existent sadly) Youtube channel, got my friends to play it for a little bit. Heard some people whine about it not actually being free-to-play. Is it true? And if it is, how can I gain the ACTUAL "Full and unlimited Gameplay"?

The game is free.

In world 8 it was in a sad state where payment was required.

This is no more so there ya go :D

Supporting the game through payments gains you benefit but is not required at all.

Full and unlimited Gameplay
Normal character development rate

''For the fair price of a song we are already providing you with the above.''

It is. For the most part. The Store

There's the basic free account:

No money? No problem! Haven & Hearth is mostly a free game, and if it's worth nothing to you, you don't have to pay us anything for it. For the fair price of a song we are already providing you with the above.

Then, you have a verified account:
Store wrote:
  • Full and unlimited gameplay
  • One extra column of inventory space
  • +20% character development rate
  • +50% convenience
  • Full and unlimited access to the Old Legacy Haven & Hearth (for as long as it lives)
  • An in-game hat in honor of your verification
Many games are sold for a one-time cost, quite simply, and in an attempt to provide Haven & Hearth in some similar fashion, we're offering to Verify your Game Account in exchange for, precisely, a one time consideration of $15.

Then, a subscription:

If you truly love us, the Game, and Rainbows & Unicorns, then you should definitely consider a Subscription. We offer Subscriptions at three different tiers – Bronze, Silver & Gold – and in four different time intervals – 1, 3, 6 or 12 Months – for a grand total of 12 different subscription offers.

The Bronze-Silver-Gold levels are mostly there to allow you to throw more money at us if you feel like it, but we have also thrown in some special Subscription Hats with the offers to give you some sense of value, should you be so generous.

Thank you so much for the reply, just missed a fucking heartbeat when I saw it.

Asked my friends on their opinion if the game was actually pay-to-play, they were thinking I was joking.

Thank you so fucking much.

No problem. I'm a verified member, which I think isn't that bad of a deal for just a one-time payment of $15. However, playing as a completely free member isn't a bad thing either. The game is still enjoyable no matter what. Think of the verified and subscriptions as "bonuses" . They're not required to play, but they can be nice.

I'm too poor to afford even the $15 (or I totally would verify) and while you won't be able to do top-end PvP stat racing, you're too late to get started in that race anyway, so whatever. I have no regrets playing for free. (Though, like I said, when I have some spending cash, Jorbtar get dibs on the first fifteen.)

Pretty sure that more people have the issue of not having a PayPal account, I'd totally buy it right now if it wasn't for it.

Select 'Pay with: other' (Xsolla) in the store and pay with basically everything available under the sun.
