horse doesn't aggro when teathered

I brought a horse into my compound and tethered it. It has not aggro'd in 18 hours. I re-leashed it and re-tethered it. No change. When i right click the horse nothing happens. when i offer it clover nothing happens. What am i missing?

Could be bugged, you could have missed the window.
Watch a bit longer, or get some more of them to streamline taming by doing it in parallel on several of them.

I noticed boys seem to take longer to aggro than girls. I caught two auroch that spawned at near each other brought them both back. the bull took a day longer than the cow. same with my sheep the ram took longer. I don't have pigs or horses yet so I don't know about them.

Usual re-aggro timer for me is 24 hours. RNG can knock it out of your playtime entirely (I had a boar without seeing the taming window once over the course of 2 weeks).

Just throw up 5 taming posts and fill them. Don't fret over one animal. If you don't see the taming window for 2 days kill it and get a new one.
