Disappearing Property

Postby mlg_no-Scoper » Mon May 22, 2017 4:23 am

So I was just walking through one of my claimed bases, and I noticed that my tar kiln had disappeared. I have no idea why. It was on the claim, so it couldn't have decayed, and I don't think someone would just trespass, just to bash a tar kiln which had no coal, tar or even blocks of wood. So it must be with something I did. I have a few possibilities:
A) The center of the 4*4 Structure was not in the claim, so it could have decayed, since I did not check the decay status
B) My permissions are wrong.
C) Something about presence, or something
D) Something else, or a property of claims I don't understand

As for a, i did not have the exact center of the kiln on my claim, so it could have decayed, and I had no idea, because I didn't check the status, but the wiki or the game itself does not state that the center of a structure must be on the claim
and for b, I don't understand whether marking vandalism makes it a crime or allows it. Using my common sense, I would assume enabling it would mean they could trespass, w/out making it a crime. I have all crimes disabled (no check) for all colors but green, which is for friends (Of which I have none), so I may be doing something wrong.
and the last option is that there is something to do w/ presence or whatever, but I highly doubt it since my presence is always full and only rarely does it drop below maximum, which is usually like 2 presence, (usually less).

I'm sure there is something to this, because I highly doubt my property would just vanish, or that someone would just decide to bash it and risk being caught, but then again, maybe they did it because they would think a noob like me wouldn't be able to track them down, so please help me out. I feel like there is something I don't understand about claims, so please explain.

If you marked vandalism for white kin, it means any Tom Dick and Harry could come up and break your structures without being counted as a crime. The gist of marking claim permissions is ONLY that crime will be pardoned for this category of people.

If you want a public kiln/oven/etc. that people can use, you should only mark trespassing, rummaging, and theft for white kin. Don't mark vandalism.

If you had that claim's bond in your study and topped up regularly, presence in that claim should be full.

Edit: Cleared up some wording.

So it's the opposite of what I thought it was, meaning that if the crime is marked, it will leave a stench and count as a crime, and if i don't mark it and leave it blank, anyone can do the crime w/out consequences

What? No, if you leave it blank it counts as a crime. If you mark it it's not a crime on the claim.

It states 'Assign permissions to...' which means that the checked actions are allowed.

Trespassing, Rummaging, ... are in general actions - the claim interface it about who to allow to execute them on your claim. These who are not allowed to execute an action on a claim will perform it as an criminal act in case they execute it anyway.
