Cant make birch backpack?

hey guys, new to the game.I have the right materials to craft my birch backpack but whenever I try it says I dont have the right ingredients even though i got more than enough birch bark and string, what am I missing?

When you select a crafting recipt the items to be used in your inventory will be highlighted.
Did you discover all the ingredients or did you pull some from a container somewhere (epecially the strings)?

Maybe post a screenshot, could make it easier to diagnose.

Thanks for the reply. I discovered spinly taproot on the ground which im using for the string. both the bark and taproot are highlighted in my inventory when trying to craft it. I tried uploading a pic but it says the file is too big and im not sure how to make it smaller, probably cause I play at 4k

If you have not perfomances issues I highly suggest you to use the official client to discover the game for the first time, your experience will be much more enjoyable.
Also you can use this beginner guide, even if outadated, still pretty usefull to start:

No it won't, the default client is severely lacking in QoL features
