Starting the game?

Postby DaewenWinter » Fri Jun 30, 2017 2:40 pm

I have the newest Java. I have the newest autohaven download. When I try to run the autohaven file, nothing happens. What so ever. I have played the game before, on this computer. Is it an issue with windows 10?

Edit: I have changed the security settings in java as suggested by magisticus, but nothing happens still. And I can't run the game from the browser. Clicking on "play" only downloads autohaven, and no console window is shown. Am I using the wrong browser perhaps? Chrome does not support java the last time I checked.

Not a lot to go on but if there is no error message then perhaps it is being blocked by your java security settings. Try going to control panel and opening the java control panel and then adding havenandhearth.com to the site exception list in the security tab. While you're there you could go to the advanced tab and select 'show console' - then the java console should come up automatically when you click to run the game from the browser and might give a better indication of what your problem is.

Oh and of course check the home page to make sure the server is up!

There may also be a log file saved on your system. Look for a hs_err_pid.log file, typically in the Java directory, but may be in different places based on configuration of the system and applet you're running.

Best suggestion is that security verification suggested by magisticus. Also check firewalls and antivirus software. There are still some that don't play well with Java.
