Burbot the mythic fish

Postby westokaze » Mon Jul 10, 2017 7:21 pm

Is this fish really exist in the game? If it does, what's wrong with it?
I have tried to catch it. Game have told me, i've got 54% chance to catch it. Fifty four percents! Is it mean, i must been able to catch single fish in every second attempt, does it? I guess, not.
I've spend about 40 baits and 100 attempts, but сaught nothing. NOTHING! Fifty four percents, Carl!

Where did i go wrong?!

Primitive Casting-rod - 50q.
Bone hook - 117q.
string - 157q.
wooden fish - 50q.
survival - 84.
Deep river, midnight, waxing crescent.
Surroundings water quality - 10.

Every other fishes are fine! But burbot...

If it gives you a 54% chance to catch, then it's supposed to be about 54%, I thought. Chances to break, etc are still typical, though. (and it's burbot)

Instead of guessing inane poetry, you are now instead presented with a list of options on fish to catch, determined by your fishing gear, the moon phase, and the local conditions otherwise, along with a chance to catch that particular fish, quite simply. You can take whichever lottery ticket you wish. The more "Will" and "Survival" you have, the longer and more exhaustive list you will be presented with, and the longer time you will also have to make your choice. If you chose nothing within the timeframe, you will automatically pick the fish with the highest catching chance. As with angle fishing you always have a chance to lose your lure, and whatnot. Also we significantly sped up both angle and lure fishing.

Oh, and water quality doesn't matter. All things have their own quality nodes, even individual fish types, which may not overlap with the fish availability nodes.

it's supposed to be about 54%

Well, 0 out of 100 is slightly less, than 54%, isn't it?
There was no string breaks, or hook losses. Burbot just flee away every time i choose it. ~40 times with the bait.

Try different lures. I believe jorb once said that some fish tend to really hate certain lures

Its a shame you have to count the lure break chance yourself.
The % you see does not give the full picture.

This usually changes the % chance, though, and can change the fish you can catch.
