Found a strange root, can't craft rootfill?

Have the leaves too, can't figure out why I can't craft the item, picked up plant lore to be sure too, any suggestions?

did you yourself get the leaves/root? if not you need someone to 'teach' it to you i believe

Hmm how's teaching work btw?

one character right clicks another character with the item in hand and selects the option 'teach'. then the student has to accept it by pressing a button on a dialogue popup. then wait a moment for the hourglass to go by

you can use a parchment instead as well, hold the parchment in hand and right click an item, combat move, or someone you've memorized from the 'kith & kin' window. i believe the parchment is only used up when used for a combat move and is used differently as it goes in the study window, i haven't used it for the kin/memorized though so not sure, i have seen them though

Got taught strange root just to be sure and neither player can craft rootfill still :l
