Making and Applying Artwork

Postby peanutzrgud » Thu Aug 03, 2017 2:11 am

So im familiar enough with uploading a picture to my account. My question is first how to make a sketch in game (WITHOUT SPENDING MONEY) and then how to apply it to a cape, shield, etc.

Also, im particularly interested in a cape. Does it have to be a particular one? Which capes can you put art on?

To make a sketch you need a few things:

1. To have uploaded an image to the account that is trying to make the sketch, seems you've done that.
2. To make some pigment, depending on the colours in your sketch, for instance blueberries and bone glue make blue pigment, ashes and butter make black.
3. To make linseed oil, depending on how complicted the image is you might need lots of it. Linseed oil is made in an extraction press in the same way as grapejuice except that it is made from flax seeds rather than grapes. If you need a lot of linseed oil then make it in buckets and put them in a cupboard and have the cupboard open when crafting the sketch.
4. Make some dried hides.
5. You will need a varying amount of psyche to craft the image depending on the complexity of the image.
6. You will need to have learnt the skill painting.

In the menu system go to craft>processing and materials>pigments and imagery where if you have done all of the above 'paint sketch' should be available. When you select it you will then (if you have correctly uploaded an image) get to select which image you want to paint, click on that and the craft panel will come up.

Once you have made your paint sketch you apply it by crafting or building it into relevant objects that have paint sketch as a component (such as shields, heraldic capes, barter stands, banners etc)

Did you discover cloth and string?

Even if you do, the cape won't show up until you make some kind of painting.

Tiny pixel art is a good start.
