New skills from animals

Postby Kebablord » Wed Sep 06, 2017 1:06 pm

I've been killing ants for a while now, around 20 killed by now, and they refuse to give me any skill card. They gave me some when I started killing them but now I can't get any, Am I capped by something?

EDIT : I finally got a new skill, Punch Em'Both pretty sure it sucks but I got something, after like 12 more ants, so I guess it's RNG and I was really lucky at the beginning or unlucky afterward.

Yeah it's RNG.

Also in my experience bats are more consistent with giving moves.

They're also arguably easier since with a bit of UA and leather armour you're pretty fine against them, while against ants you get unavoidable annoying wounds.

My armor class is 16/35, how much would I need against a single bat?

It's more than sufficient.

Now if your agi and UA are both around 15 it'd be quite easy.

Don't let the combat system fool you, restorations are worse than they seem.

Meaning most of the time it's better to keep spamming left hook than lowering your openings because at a certain HP the bat will flee, after which you can run after him and hit him again.

Also when it's fleeing you can do restorations for ''free'' as the opponent is not hitting you back.

Doing jump for example while in combat lowers your opening for X amount, but if the yellow opening is not insanely high it is more advantage to hit the bat instead since the jump doesn't really help with progressing the fight. The bat will just hit you again next time and you haven't damaged him because chose to do the restoration.

So yeah if you have 15/15 and with current armour I'm certain you can just do left hook until bat is dead. If you get an opening above 65% do restoration once.

I can't remember the specifics but I remember bat hits some times on yellow and then changes to opening green.

Which, if you imagine it makes it even worse if you start doing restorations on low amount opening because once he has 2 colours on you doing restorations is definitely the wrong move.

So yeah hope my wall of text helps a bit.

You might simply have gotten most that ants will give you.

Thank you for the tips, I've been doing that and it's been going smoothly, I lose at most 1 HHP per bat and a few SHP so I'd say it's pretty good since at least they give me stuff unlike ants...
I did get a few more skills from ants afterward, but I still haven't gotten chop sadly. I just got kick on a bat so that's good, I'll tell you how it goes later. :)

Nice :)

Go for a bat cape, study the excess wings if you don't have better curio and raise UA until you can take on some bigger animals :)

Fox, badger, mouflon and boar can teach you the move uppercut.

It depends on UA and once you gave them some yellow opening you do sideswipe.

Sideswipe can be gotten from bat, fox, badger, lynx, moose and aurouch.

Sideswipe is very reliable hunting move and will make hunting very easy once you have a (proper) weapon.

Q10 bronze sword is also fine early on to be honest. :D

Doubt it as ants learn 6 moves which you can all have 5 times.

The chance of learning from ants seem to be lower than last world in my perspective.

30 Moves ''to get'' from ants with only 3 of them initially being in starter deck, leaving 27 opportunities to learn moves if just fighting ants.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks!
I noticed they gave me LP when killed? Will they do that forever? If so that's pretty cool.

each animals has a maximum and minimum LP they can initially give, and the more you kill of one animal kind the lower it will go over time.

It will go back up if you don't kill this animal kind for a while

Does that mean that you believe that ants will teach you up to 5/5 for all those six moves?
