Please help I REALLY want to play this game
Make sure your version of Java is up to date. This error only shows up with older versions of Java. You should be running 1.8 update 144. You can update directly through the Java options (Windows: Control Panel > Java) or via java.com. It's suggested to allow Java to auto update. As long as Java is installed and can run through the web browser, all it takes is going to a bad website to have virus or other problems. (Note there are other causes of this error, but a user probably won't be seeing them on released software unless it's a major bug.)
You may need to fully uninstall and reinstall Java, too.
If you're running any 3rd party security software, please see my note at the bottom.

Except the cert the game uses isn't self signed. The cert the SSL login is, though, if anyone wants to log into the website via HTTPS.
There should be no need for exceptions* or installing the cert onto the computer manually unless there's another problem. Adding an exception for Haven to Java's security hasn't been necessary in a while (since Java v8 was released a year or so ago at least). The exception to that I can think of is if Java's security is set to "Very High," and the certificate cannot be verified by the certificate trust chain. I can think of a few possible failures, but nothing that can be easily diagnose over the Internet, or even related to the client computer running the code.
To note, the Seatribe certificate is issued to HB Seatribe by
GlobalSign CodeSigning CA. This can be viewed through the Java options, Security tab.
*Note: If using a 3rd party firewall or other security software, adding exceptions to that software may be necessary. If they aren't there, then issues running any app or other software can experience odd crashes. Typically there's other errors that occur, though something like this one is possible.
