Ant hills? newbie tips?

Hello, i just started playing, so far im having fun tho all im doing is running around trying to get survival and exploration to 10 before i set a land or something, thats one of the tips i got and another was to raid ant hills. Now i have no idea how to do that, i saw some videos i saw some info but theres always 3-4-5 groups guarding it and 1 is always faster or same speed as me and mauls me down... so far onli thing i managed to get is a squirel and a chicken, rest runs away from me eaven when sprinting ._.

Observe ants to make sure there no fast ones before you raid their hill. Wait till they're all away from the hill and start raiding so they all aggro you, then immediately walk away. Lead the ants two or three screens away from the hill, then run back to the hill and raid it. You should finish raiding before they catch up with you, if you don't just abort and lead them away further.

how do i know what ants are fast?

They move fast even when they're patrolling around the anthill.

you chould fight ant one by one can still have time to raid nest if only 2-3 of them

with rabbits i use to get as close i can with out causes them to run and click sprint on and then chase some will still get away but ill catch most (makes sure is terrian that can sprint)

Bats are easier to kill than ants, these days. Use Potjeh's running away method for raiding anthills, then once you have some more stats go kill bats, *then* try killing bats.

I like running the ants around a longer cliff to slow them down. Seems to make the run around method a little faster and easier.

Picking some clovers to 'rent a horse' helps with ant running.
