Mining Questions; Gemstones

Postby FurryDave5 » Wed Oct 18, 2017 11:47 pm

Okay, so, ignore my glaring ignorance, but I've found some gems while mining, and I've noticed some trends.
1) I've found ONLY turquoise
2) They are mostly of similar size
3) They are mostly of similar cut

So, here's my question, would those 3 factors group together based off of location? Aka, is my mine just a turquoise location?

Yes to all 3, in a sense. The prevailing theory I heard on the vine is that Gem placement is node-based, and these types of nodes are (generously) numerous enough and varied enough that one can notice overlap such nodes.
Either gem nodes would have a pre-generated range of a uniform gem type, gem size and cut or nodes can have multiple gem types and uniform size and cut range.

Ah, I understand. Our small island home seems to house a hefty share of turquoise gems underneath it. I've uncovered five, 1 of which was fair cabochon turquoise, while the other 4 were some combo of small, tiny, smooth and rough.
