Chicken quality?

Im trying to figure out how chicken quality works. Recently I acquired q120 hen and cock and placed them in a chicken coop. I checked later and saw that they both are q85 now. Can someone please explain this to me.

What quality was your food and water? If those aren't above the quality of the chicken they will be soft capped by the average of the two. Or some variation of that, I'm not 100% sure the weights.
