village: adding alts ?

Postby AriZona » Tue Dec 05, 2017 1:34 am

Hi,

I just established a village for my own amusement (single founder). Few things are not clear and I can not find by searching:

#1. I have one account and few alts. How to add alts to be village members ?

#2. After the village was established my alts can still do everything around: walk, lift, etc. Did they inherit any right because their fires were in the claim ?

Thanks!

1) you need to make a second account to make the village's lwspeaker if you want to add them to the village as members.

2) not exactly. you need to check permissions for the village, your claim, your alts, and how they are set in your kin list. Personal claims have higher rights than village claims, so it's possible they're just getting rights from that. The exact answer really depends on how you have things set up

You could maintain this way of managing characters without needing a second account for lawspeaker. You just need to be aware of its shortcomings. I've not messed with the village interface since it was last updated, so I am not the best person to answer it.

Thanks, MagicManICT - you gave great answers.

Would not be smart and straightforward that a village claim would inherit directly all inhabitants of personal claims at the establishments ? I know it is not like this; it was just my (naive) common sense :)

thx!

Villages don't block movement, claims override the permissions.

The lawspeaker doesn't have to be on another account anymore (as the permission to add characters can be given to village member via a group), you still need a second account to add additional characters from your first as both characters have to be online.

Giving manage permissions to someone allows them to upgrade themselves (= makes them lawspeaker effectively), be careful with permissions (giving too much to others or locking yourself out).

Beware that white permission group (for both village and personal claim) applies to everyone not in another group, even unknown characters, be careful with permissions for white.
