They would look the same, but you could not use them to buy stuff that costs the real coins.
Also somebody would notice and you would get screwed, so I dont recommend it.

Plus most trading places use gold/silver coins that are worth about the value of the metal used in it, so it wouldn't really matter.

Since kingdoms all take a 10% tax from gold/silver bar to coin exchange you can definitely get maximum value by making your own coinpress and making counterfeit money.
You cant buy from stalls but you can buy from people.
Enjoy not paying tax.

or you can sell your counterfeit under the guise of a kingdom member.
someone inexperienced like me would be exploited. maybe coinpresses need to require a village to be named after (instead of naming it w/e you want)
that way you have to identify subtle differences like a lowercase l instead of capital I

If markets didn't tax they couldn't be sabotaged with a bunch of counterfeit coin. Resulting in customer distrust towards the market and market owner distrust towards stall owners.
I still haven't seen anyone do it though. I guess thats too low for even the worst of hearthlings.

Lmao losing 10 coins is nothing for the giant service the market provides; you'd have to be retarded to counterfeit because you couldn't even use them in the stalls. If you want to see a scam, look at the DiS market from last year.

You referring to the inflation rates from minting too much money? I think that was the general complaint I had read.

Yes its a small price to pay that most people don't even have to pay since they get most of their money from selling other things.
Its possible to grief a market with false coins by a person with the raw bars or even original coins.
Trades are being done outside of stalls too.
It would be a lot of effort to do it purely for evading 10% tax but not a lot of effort if your goal is to grief. Since the player who receives payment in false coins has to pay the tax.
And you can always sell false coins in stalls too mixed in with real ones so you can claim innocence later :D
