There is ONE problem you can run into. If "Enable Java content for browsers and Web Start applications" isn't set, then Java won't properly launch .jnlp files (won't associate javaws.exe with the .jnlp extension). This can be fixed by opening the Java settings (Windows: Control Panel>Java), going to the "Security" tab, and setting the option to "checked."
edit: I think Chrome would actually have more issues with Java than Firefox or either MS browser due to some of the recent changes to support for legacy standards being removed.
