Horses, horses...

Hi everyone,

I am fairly new to the game, living as a hermit and quite enjoy it.

I finally figured out how the whole taming thing works, but there is one problem,
I want to breed horses for their obvious usefulness,
but every time I tame one it is a Stallion.

What am i missing? I tamed 6 horses as of now and every single one is a Stallion.
Is it really that small of a chance to get a Mare? or am I doing something wrong?

It's just a 50/50 chance for each horse. That makes a 3% chance of getting one gender six times in a row, so it happens.

You could ask your neighbors or break into an abandoned place to get a mare.

My typical luck, and that is why I don't buy lottery tickets.

I don't have anyone close by with any animals, so trading is a no go.
I will keep trying, at lest I know I'm doing the right thing.

If you can find your way to Aurora (Northern Kingdoms) or Community Faire (Hedgehugs), you can probably buy one. There are roads all around the map, and at worst, they're a couple hours travel time by boat.

Just an update....

Tamed another horse, guess what? Its a stallion again.
Can I have the "unluckiest hearthling ever" title?

Anyone on the lover left corner on the map has a mare too many?

Ill head out tonight, spend a few hours to bring back a dozen horses or so and tame them simultaneously.
BTW, anyone need a free stallion, or two, or....

Hope you get better luck soon. Given the volume of animals, this isn't out of the realm of probability.

If I were that direction, I might buy one or two off you. I detest taming mechanics currently. Time gates are the bane of my gaming existence.

I remember we get the same issue when taming horses. I think it's about the location you get the animal. Find horses from far lands and pray to old gods for a mare!
