Indeed. Though it might be difficult to do on a horse if the animal you are fighting is faster than a boar. Using the deep water to keep you distance while you spam recovery moves is what people usually mean.

The best method is still to probably cheese the animal with a boat or horse if you have one.

Some people said that cheesing can easly brake the taming process. I always tamed using a rocks but it's not viable anymore. Maybe taming using a palisade would be better? I am looking for a new method to tame my first horse after wipe
