well at least i have my answer. its stupid that you can only get pearls by making one of the most worthless foods in the game.

if you eat river mussels after boiling them and don't eat the pearls then why would not get them from here?

though I don't think anyone makes that big of an amount of clambakes so at least not much is lost from this (not that I know, never tried clambakes and crabs are ouchy)

theyre actually pretty great, destroys your character's hunger for a while but if your highest stat is lower than 100/200 and with a decent table you can get some good dex,
you just have to absolutely mass them which is possible with their spawn rate. also, pearls sometimes

actually mussels are very good psy food, mixed with rats and taproots and some more psy food or a dump point in dex wich is nice anyway

just dump them in the water like everyone else in the game

mabye we should be able to "crack open" clams and thay start to go bad after cracked or something

chould degrade into clamshells which have a few uses
