Wrecking ball range

If I have a palisade and then a brick wall surrounding the palisade, and I use a wrecking ball up against the palisade, will it also wreck the brick wall? I want to destroy the palisade but leave the brick wall intact. Is that possible?

It will only cause damage to the object directly in front of it.
So your brickwall should be safe.
