What are Kingdoms?

Returning to the game after a long time of not playing. I started playing earlier and I noticed I had a buff titled 'The Northern Kingdom', what does this mean? Why do I have this buff? Are there other 'Kingdoms' in the game? I noticed that after walking too far south the buff disappeared.

Kingdoms are basically just huge versions of village claims, except they don't stop you from interacting with stuff. Instead, they give you buffs that the leaders of the kingdom buy by building menhirs and idols. They rely on experience gained by players in the kingdom for authority. Kingdoms can also fight each other for land.

i would suggest that you try to leave the northern kingdom as fast as possible. they were obliterated recently and the raiders may think you're a survivor.

Yeah, the situation is pretty rough atm. I would suggest Fire and Ice as the best place to go, though I'm not an expert.

I just found the Northern Kingdom thread and was excited for a harmonic place to settle down in H&H, dreams crushed I guess. I'll try to get out from the Kingdom then, I was about to head up to the capital but I guess that's a bad idea now.

It's some where west of Northern Kingdom. I don't know a whole lot about them other than that they are one of the most peaceful realms.

Hedgehugs have the best bonuses at the moment, but since they run Community Faire, there is some strife. You can generally find them to the S-SW sections of the map. There are other options, too, but none I can recommend for someone that doesn't have much involvement in the world's politics. Up to you.

I'd advice looking for shelter in Hedgehugs, Fire And Ice doesn't have that much of a concern for their realm inhabitants as far as i know, but the decision is still up to you
