What are the most efficient way to move large quantities of objects? I just found out the wheelcart cannot carry cupboards that are loaded, but its not really explicitly written anywhere.

Wheelbarrows for stockpile-able stuff. Aside from that, you can load coffers/crates/biggest container you have on hand that isn't a cupboard onto carts.

large chest is the biggest container you can move on a cart, you will need metal discovered and bronze discovered.
