Taming question: Aurochs

Postby HawkyTom » Sat Mar 24, 2018 7:38 pm

Hello, new player attempting to try to tame for the 1st time. I checked out the wiki article, but am left with a few questions still.

I hitched an Auroch and have been waiting for him to be ready to be attacked. (will he attack without me initiating? or will he look different? how will I know)
-When I inspect my auroch it says 15% tamed.

-Does the taming timer become RESET when I pull his hair AND he attacks/chases me into my house (then I have to releash/hitch him)
-Can I feed him clovers&milk him during the taming process or could that also reset/interupt the tame process??

Any information would be appreciated.

It will take an aggressive stance that will be obviously different but not attack while hitched. It will have its front feet splayed out looking like it is ready to charge you. It will take this stance at random times, and if not attacked during that time, may lose some tameness. If not attacked at all over several cycles, it will eventually despawn.

Not sure of the answer on this one. I wouldn't do anything that interferes with the process such as this that does break the leashing.

You can move them manually without messing with the timers. That I'm aware, using clovers for milk doesn't mess with the timers.

As an FYI, make sure that your hitching posts and the area for the animal to roam around it is in the same map square (the area the minimap covers, or one of the large map tiles, about a 100x100 area). There is a known bug where animals can unleash and despawn if they get into different map sections from the hitching post.
