Cistern and Fermentation

The title is pretty much the sum of the question. Do cisterns halt the fermentation process? The wiki says that anything other than a barrel and demijohn it will turn into stale grape juice. I'm testing it now, however I'm curious if the cistern will be counted as a barrel or not.

Cisterns can only be used as storage after the fermentation process. So yes, they will halt the process.
