Ancient Windthrow event?

Do the Ancient Windthrow's need to have roots in them to trigger the event? Been stuck on this mystic quest for just over a week now trying to trigger it, walking between the same 4 roots every day and yet no cigar so far =[

Experience events trigger based on their rarity, that is experience points they give. Fallen tree even has 400 exp, so is quite rare. In addition to that, you may need to go through other lore events to "activate" this particular one.

Anecdotally, I've solved this by triggering tons of easy experiences. My understanding of how experiences work is that there are only so many that are available to you at any given time, which changes as you accomplish the available ones.

Try spending like 10-15 minutes just digging, touching willow trees, picking flowers, stepping into water, etc etc until you stop getting experiences, and then try the tree again.

There's also a time portion to many. I'm not sure what the delay is, but if the timer hasn't passed, it won't trigger at all, no matter how much you try to farm for it. If I were to take a stab, I'd say it's around two weeks on localized resources. It may only be a week or so and just is that rare to actually show up.

I know jorb has made comments here and there about it without really saying anything directly, so we really don't know exactly what the details on it are.
