How do I aggro a tethered mouflon?

My village mate has asked me to tame her mouflon while she is at work. The critter was partially tamed and is tethered. It has adopted the / \ stance so I understand it will despawn in a few hours if it is not tamed. But I have next to no combat skills or knowledge. I understand that I have to punch it and click the de-aggro button in the top right that I click when I am cowering in a house praying the a boar will go away. What I haven't figured out is how I punch it. I have a combat deck loaded that has nothing but the punch move in it. How do I aggro the mouflon?

Is it impossible because it has to be the person who has already started to tame it?

Testing... Will not accept clover either. But that was a long shot and I didn't expect it to work.

Mouflon was subdued. Nobody told me I needed a rope. Mouflon strolls away towards the wilderness while I squawk and jump up and down.
Raced into village mate's house to look for one. No rope, but fortunately a rope walk.
Hearthed back home to get fibre. Sprinted back, made the rope, ran out looking for the mouflon. Combed the wilderness.
Found it!
Brought it back. Could not tether it.
Horrified thought that I might have to stay on line holding the end of the rope until my village mate got off work and logged on nine hours from now.
Other village mate suggested (the obvious) to click the hitching post with the rope too.

Success!!

Now slowly healing from the concussion her aurochs gave me when I failed to subdue that...

I feel you. A lot of these things have very unintuitive approaches. I can't imagine having to find everything on my own, without a wiki. I guess it's part of the fun to discover things.
