How does one catch ducks?

Is killing it with a sling good enough for this? Do I need a horse? I have the Forager Credo speed bonus, is a boat fast enough with that?

It's really fucking hard without a horse. You need someway to make it run back into you. You could have one character scare it off, and one character be on the side to intercept it.

Does it count as catching if you kill it with sling? Or can you scare it to run towards you by shooting it?

You could always find a clover and feed it to a wildhorse to have a temporary horse if you don't have access to tamed ones.
