1. What file format should I use to get optimal compatibility ?

2. Are the RGB codes mentioned in the wiki page http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Painting correct ?

3. Is transparency possible ? it turns white when I upload a png file with transparent background

My problem is the ingame amounts of pigments is huge no matter if I use small image and black and white colours.. is thare an updated guide of how to do it properly somewhere ?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

PNG has no compression, only those colors on the wiki, no transparency. The curves, contours, and size of the image increase the amount of pigments and psyche requirements. If you use a sketchbook page, you don't use any ink or require any psyche.

Transparency should work perfectly well. It is best if you keep image dimensions to even powers of two, otherwise the uploader will have to rescale it for you, and you can probably do a better job of that manually.

This is blatantly false, png does have a compression. It has lossless compression, which means that the compressed image looks the same as uncompressed one, unlike in formats like JPEG, where the compression might change color of some pixels in order to further reduce file size, resulting in lower quality image. (Although in photos you probably wont even notice it)

I noticed transparency can sometimes be tricky when working with PNGs. For keeping image quality intact while reducing file size, I use an online tool like PNG compressor tool which maintains the original clarity. Also, ensuring the dimensions are powers of two really helps avoid unnecessary rescaling issues. This customization feature makes the game even more fun to explore
