Seeds Quality.

Postby Wolgirt » Mon Aug 13, 2018 11:26 pm

I am playing for about 4 months and I have a question about the quality of the seeds.
In the Ring of Brodgar says: Farming limits: seeds when harvested (MaxQuality = farming +5)
I have 190 farming + 120 from some items = 310, but the seed I have at level 160 does not increase when I harvest!
Is there another way to raise seed levels?

When you plant a crop, it receives a quality change between -2 to +5, assuming farming doesn't cap. The quality change amount is the same for all crops of the same type, in the general area (minimap or two?), planted within a similar time-frame.

If you want to know specific bounds, one of the devs stated that it took about 500 tiles in any direction or about 8 hours to get a fully random number for the quality change. Small changes, a dozen tiles, 10 minutes, would only add in small variances, -1 to +1. For my small farm (<100x100 total area for all crops), that's the biggest variance I've seen for any one plant.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Sprouting barley on a herbalist table can increase the q if you have a good q table.

Slow grind for most everything else though. This late in the world you can probably find 600-800q+ seeds in abandoned bases.
