Animal Breeding and Quality.

Postby qoonpooka » Sun Aug 19, 2018 3:56 pm

I have two stallions with the following stat profile:

#1:
Q 134
Breeding Q: 151

#2
Q 129
Breeding Q: 209

(There is also a castrated wild stallion in the same pen.)

I tamed a wild mare, so her stats are all 10s.

Both of her foals to date have been quality 9.

The latest is a mare:
Quality 9
Milk Q 85% (bad for a Mare I presume, especially a Q9 mare)
Breeding Quality 209

She's with foal again, so my question is: do I let the 209 BQ mare grow to maturity and start breeding her?

I thought, per the wiki:

The quality of any of the foal's stat is the average of the male and female's stat, +20 -> -5 [Verify], and then soft capped by the breeding quality of the male involved.

Which would suggest that the foal quality should be: 64-92 softcaped by 151 at the worst.

What gives?

You got bad random stats, alternatively you could get 130Q foal, for that reason better to have more mares.
