say i bought a year of bronze but i wanted silver if i buy silver now will it just be added to end of bronze? cause i wanted to get new hats as thay come but didnt look into it enough lol if i buy year of gold can it be put in front of the bronze sub?

No, the bronze subscription that you have will be added onto the end of the new silver subscription, so to speak. In actuality, it works such that if you have a certain level of subscription, you also always have all the lower levels of subscriptions, so if you buy a month of silver subscription, then in actuality you are buying a month of silver and a month of bronze subscription, so your current bronze subscription is just extended. And you didn't even know you got that -- what a bargain, eh!

There should be a way to reorder them or (to avoid endless shuffeling a gold subscription to be active on patch day to get the hat and then setting it dormant again) an option to order the new one to start now instead of after the current expires - in case you want patch hats now instead of (should you have been on a prior shopping spree for subscriptions) in some years.

Or to make it simple (so no interface is needed): the highest quality subscription (ordered: gold, silver, bronze, token) should always be the active one.

The way I read it I gathered some kind of implication of, "one year of gold if you buy a year of gold, and then you get a year of silver, and a year of bronze," not, "you get the highest level you pay for, plus all lower levels simultaneously, and they all run concurrently."

That first part blew my mind and I questioned why I'm not buying 3 years of haven subscription. Thank god it doesn't work the way I gathered.
