cow cheese

Postby Alitis » Wed Sep 26, 2018 8:04 pm

Hi all.

Wiki says cow curd will turn into cellar cheddar after 44 h in cellar http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Cheese

and if left there will turn int generic gouda after 66 RL hours, but I get generic gouda in definately less than 66 hours ( 4-5 hours top ) after the courd goes to 100%.

What am I doing wrong ? :(

Is your curd made from just "milk or aurochs' milk", e.g. You used multiple milk types and/or used milk from an aurochs? In this case the item you get from your curding tub is called "Curd" and not "Cow's Curd"

Normal curd can only become generic gouda

Yes, the curd I get is just "curd" ... I was pretty sure I did not mix the milks... :?

I don't recall the tub issue getting fixed (not finding anything on a search). If you reuse the same tub for sheep and then cow milks, you only get generic curds. Make sure you have different tubs for each.

That is certainly the issue then, I did not know that, but now I made a new tub I do get cow curd. And answers my certainty that I did not mix the milks.
