Good news: if it popped up one day, they can't remove your claim or anything like that. They can't override the permissions on your claim, either. You are the king of your castle.

Bad news: you won't be able to extend your claim in that direction unless they let you join the village and give you permissions to do so. They could overlap your whole claim and then wall you in. If that happens, you won't be able to break out without the usual siege mechanics.
