Butchering ants

Do the ones that can be butchered remain longer inside dungeon? cause all the ones i kill regularly vanish and i cannot even try to see if i can butcher them...

Yup, seek for giant ants that do not vanish. Usually they can be found in corridors and rooms without key-locked doors.
