New Rowboat Recipe?

Anyone figured out how to make a rowboat yet? The canoes are nice early game option, but we're about to move camp and we don't know how to make a rowboat.

You need to discover tar now, and apply tar to it after you build the rowboat.

how much tar do you need or is there a method to applying it? can't seem to do it
