Tree quest

So i have to bring a willow catnik to this tree named Maltbrand but i just dont know how to give it to him..Any help?

Left click willow catnik so you hold it in your hand then right click quest giver and select 'deliver'.

Did this a few times didnt work..ended up abandoning the quest.

What are the chances he asked for "Willow" and you tried to deliver "Bay willow" or vice-versa (or just some other catkin) ?
