Apple trees

Postby Frankles » Thu Feb 07, 2019 11:13 am

I have explored now for about 3+ days with my boat, exiting when I see landmasses that look like they would house apple trees (basing my info on the ring of brodgar entry on apple trees).
I mean, I am on amber client, and the trees should pop up on the minimap because I've enabled only apple trees to be shown... I haven't found one single apple tree so far.
But for real, am I just unlucky, or is there a serious lack of apple trees in this world?

They are still in the game. I know an area which is just full of those (took me less than 10 minutes of walking around to pick 8 rotten apples).

But the distribution of trees is very uneven. As usual, I was trying to keep an eye on plane wood from the very beginning. Found some, but really far away from where I live.

Biome based. Biomes come in blocks sort of, you'll see the same 4-5 biomes repeat in an are, but there are more out there in other big areas.

Less of an issue before oceans, but you could have to travel an hour to get into a new group of biomes in past worlds.

RoB could be wrong. Could be areas you're looking.

In my case there were no mulberry trees anywhere in sight, but there's tons of apple trees around. I eventually found one after a couple hours' journey. Pick a direction and keep going until you find one.

They look like this:

though likely picked clean and without the red spots now.

Thanks, I do know what the trees look like. I was mostly inquiring why there were none, despite being in the "correct" biomes for them to grow.
But yeah, sounds like I need to pick a direction and stick with it, until I find at least a tree. I really wouldn't mind as much if I had encountered just one empty tree at least, but I haven't even seen an empty one yet.

On the other hand, I got done in by some wolves in the mountains and I found the edge of the world in one direction, so I have that going for me.

Sounds like you're on the western continent. You're out of luck, I haven't seen any apple trees anywhere and I'm not sure if they grow on this continent. You can try going all the way north (there are some more exotic trees there), maybe you can find them there but they're definitely not in any of the areas I explored.

They seem to be growing only on some continents, on my continent i can not find any mulberry trees anywhere as an example.
