Can bodies decay indoors?

I got shrekked by a moose and my friend put my body in a house. It's been roughly 15 hours so i don't expect the body to be decayed but i also don't want to wait forever if it won't work.

Why do you need to wait for the body to decay? If you're the direct ancestor, you can loot it. If you're waiting on burial, it's 24 hours.

Yea I'm waiting on burial, It kinda sucks because i don't want to up many stats since it will be a waste. thanks for the confirmation.
